Slate
The gallery - bright, stony, and quietly luminous.
Pale stone, white light, and clean planes that let the space breathe. Slate is the airy one: open, calm, and effortless, with two bedrooms and a bath finished like a boutique hotel. The room to book when you want to arrive and exhale.
Two bedrooms and one full bath. One bedroom holds a king, the other a queen, and there is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The lighter palette and open plan make it the brightest of the three in the morning, which guests who wake early tend to prefer.
Slate is the most hotel-like of the three without being a hotel. Keyless entry, premium linens, fresh toiletries, in-unit laundry, and a full kitchen, in a rowhouse three doors wide on a quiet residential street rather than a tower downtown.
Melville Row sits at 206 South Melville Avenue in Hyde Park, Tampa. South Howard is a short walk, with Hyde Park Village and Bayshore Boulevard close behind. The University of Tampa, Tampa General Hospital and downtown are all a brief drive, and parking on site is free. Our Tampa guidebook lists the places we actually go.
